Description
2018 Class start from Jul 21 to Sep 15, 2018 (Every Saturdays).
ACT Course:
The ACT Prep Course is designed to deconstruct each section of the test (Math, Reading, English, and Science), breaking apart each section into specific lessons focused on the basic skills tested by ACT, Inc. We will complete this task by addressing the question patterns that are used to put together each section of the test. By reviewing, practicing, and repeating each of these question types during each course meeting and as part of regular homework assignments, students will become familiar with the exact tasks they will be asked to complete on the exam. Repeated exposure and interaction with the practice exercises and questions addressed in class will make students proficient to the point where the actual exam will be more routine than they could have ever expected. It will also help them with their time-management skills and enable them to be better able to discern which question types are deserving of more focus and attention than others.
This class will break subject of the ACT test into specific class units that will be addressed on a weekly basis. Over the course of eight weeks, we will go through the lesson plans, each of which will involve instruction on what to look for, implementing test-taking strategies, and answering and reviewing actual test questions. At the beginning and end of the course, students will complete an actual past ACT exam, which we will then go over in class. Throughout the course we will also be completing and reviewing shorter sections of the test to emphasize the areas of emphasis for each class session. There will be mandatory homework assignments throughout the course.
Past experience has shown that students who successfully complete the course requirements, which include regular attendance, active participation in class, and teacher-approved submission of homework assignments, see their overall scores increase by an average of 10%, though that number can be significantly more for some. Because we are confident in our material and teaching acumen, we will guarantee any students who meet our expectations and fail to reach this 10% improvement goal in the official ACT Exam on Oct 27, 2018, the student could enroll in our next session of ACT class for free.
